Glaze samples
The photos show the glaze on all our clays.
The mixing ratio is 1000 grams of glaze powder to 1,1 liter of water, hydrometer value 45.
The samples are bisque fired at 980°C. All glazes except ST0009, ST0010, ST0011, and ST0012 are fired at 1260°C with a 30 minute soak period. ST0010, ST0011, and ST0012 are fired at 1250°C, ST0009 is fired at 1230°C.
The firing cycle was 8 hours up to 600°C, then 3 hours to top temperature and 30 minutes soaking followed by a natural cooling cycle which means that the kiln turned off automatically efter the soak. The kiln was opened at approximnately 200°C.
Disclaimer
We need to point out that the electronic depiction of glaze colours can vary beyond our control.
Furthermore, the glaze colour will vary dependent on the porosity of the bisque ware, the mixing ratio, layer thickness, firing cycle and kiln type and size. We cannot guarantee that the colours will come out exactly as in the photos.
We recommend that you make your own glaze samples in your own kiln, before glazing large pieces of work.
Please read our general recommendations on handling glazes here.
